Interview process at Jiminny

Applying

We have a simple application process - just send an email to jobs@jiminny.com. Please mention the position you’re applying for and attach your CV, together with your Github and LinkedIn profile if applicable.

We love to keep things simple and are proud to be one of the companies with an easy application process.

Screening

Once we’ve received your application, if you profile matches what we’re looking for we’ll contact you for a quick screening call. Together, we will schedule a 30 minute video call at a time of your convenience.

We’ll send over a Google Calendar invitation to a Jiminny call. You’ll see the product first-hand.

Agenda:

• Introduction to Jiminny and answering any questions you may have around the company and position
• You telling us more about yourself - how you started programming and what’s your experience
• A few technical and non-technical questions
• Next steps

Technical

We ask you to answer a couple of questions:

• What is your proudest achievement? It can be from work, a side project, or something unrelated to tech. We’re interested in knowing about what you think is noteworthy and motivating. A paragraph or two is fine!
• Tell us about an interesting technical book, article, or presentation that you saw recently. Tell us why, give us a recommendation!

Our take-home test should be completed in your free time, we promise it will not take more than a couple of hours.

Interview

The interview usually takes 60 minutes we may discuss:

• your take-home test
• your professional experience
• your education
• general technical knowledge
• specific programming questions
• agile processes
• tools you use
• culture

We don’t require candidates to do whiteboard interviews or live coding exercises since this doesn’t resemble real-life work.

We are one of the companies hiring without whiteboards.
